Coffee roasters in Portland

Portland treats coffee roasting like a civic duty. Coava pours some of the cleanest single-origins on the West Coast from its Grand Avenue flagship; Case Study and Upper Left carry the second wave; Sterling runs a tiny, obsessive program; and Deadstock brings sneaker-culture energy to Old Town ("coffee should be fun" is the actual ethos). Stumptown — the roaster that put Portland on the world coffee map — still operates its original hometown cafés here.

Portland is one of the biggest fresh-roast cities in our directory: 33 independent roasters and roaster-cafés across Portland, Oregon, with 13,959 customer reviews between them. Coava Coffee Roasters leads the pack at 4.6★ across 1,673 reviews. 9 of them supply beans wholesale to local cafés and offices. Swung by this quirky and unique looking coffee joint to grab an Oat Milk cold brew whilst exploring the city. Pretty yummy! The cold brew is non-sweetened and has a great medium Roast tasting earthy texture and balance.

One of my favorite coffee shops! Don’t be a jerk, and pick up after yourself! They have a dish container IN THE MIDDLE of the shop. Anyway, their pesto club is SO good, as well as their seasonal raspberry matcha. I’m not a big fan of the chai— too sweet for me— but it’s very yummy still.
