I visit Old Friends twice a day to meet my espresso needs. They quickly became my go to neighborhood shop. I was delighted to find a clean, beautiful cafe a few blocks from my home serving coffee that I’m excited about.
this is a charming and intimate third place with excellent fresh coffee roasted in house and a soft serve machine for cones or affogatos. the matcha latte is wonderful and the coffee specials (egg cream last week) are inventive and rotate frequently. outdoor seating and street parking.
ACCESSIBILITY: Three steps from sidewalk to front door, another step up and over threshold, and another three to the coffee shop. So if you have crutches or OA in your knees, it might be a challenge, and if you have a wheelchair or walker it's a no-go.
my dream specialty coffee spot! the lattes are perfect and the baristas are friendly, talented and quick with it. you know a place knows their stuff when they're transparent about their coffee beans, dont serve oversized milk drinks & pre mix your lattes!!! also, don't sleep on the pastries too!!
