There was a time when I frequently found myself in downtown Phoenix, which gave me the chance to visit Cartel Coffee regularly. Each visit was a delight, with their espresso, americanos, and lattes consistently delivering exceptional flavor and quality.

Best espresso in downtown Phoenix I’ve had after six or so coffee shops. Good pull, served with sparkling water. There is a small seating area outside or seats in an office lobby the coffee shop opens up into. Bakery case had a dozen or so items, including some that are vegan and/or GF.

Coffee was okay, pastry was great. The espresso isn't as strong as I would like (even though I got a shot more than I normally do). The pastry, apple butter pop tart, was great. Most and crispy!

Being cheeky, I told the barista in this serious coffee place that I was from Melbourne, and hadn't found good coffee in Phoenix yet. It wasn't strictly true, but a great conversation starter with baristas! He made me an excellent latte with pretty free pour art.
