Whew, this place is outstanding. My wife and I came back for Saturday morning breakfast and were blown away. She got the rise & shine bowl and said it was fantastic, I had the salmon & asparagus crepe and I'm not sure I've had a better thing in this city.
This is an order at the counter and then grab a seat kind of place. The line was long, but orders get taken pretty quickly. Despite how crowded this place was on a Friday at noon and how small the kitchen is, we managed to gather our to-go order after only 15 minutes. The team running this place is immaculate.
Small menu, something for everyone, i had the lox and bagel which was one of the best ive had. Sadly the bagel sat on top of the tomato making both quarters of my sandwich a little soggy. A friend had eggs Benedict which looked lovely. Small indoor shared seating area, tented outdoor and open outdoor seating.
I've been to The Red Twig several times now, and while I'd say the food is decent—nothing extraordinary, but solid—and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, there's one reason I keep finding myself back here: the lattes.
