Stopped into Praxis a while back as part of a side quest to try all the ATX coffee roasters. Pleasantly surprised by the coffee shop itself with the saloon vibe and spent a good amount of time chatting with the baristas about everything from coffee tech to long distance running.
Coffee is solid and the atmosphere is great - very Austin vibes. Indoor space is a little limited but there is tons of covered outdoor space. Really great to sit out there on a nice day. One note: they close at 3:00 pm but close down their espresso maker at 2:30 pm.
This was such a cool and unique place — it feels like stepping into a piece of history! It’s definitely a specialty coffee shop; the coffee quality is clearly above 80. As far as I could tell, they don’t serve any light roasts, leaning more toward medium to dark.
