Possibly the best coffee shop in LA right now. As someone who travels the world for coffee and has visited over 20 coffee shops in Tokyo alone, Loquat Silver Lake is one of the few places in Los Angeles that truly reminds me of Tokyo’s coffee culture.

🍵The marble (+extra espresso shot) ☕️ Hot Americano The matcha wasn’t super delicate, but it actually paired really well with the coffee and milk foam. The bitterness and sweetness were nicely balanced and not too heavy. I was pleasantly surprised before stirring, though once mixed, the flavor became pretty average.

It’s actually shocking how good the coffee is here. Even with fantastic spots like Dayglow and Picnic nearby, this one is by coffee nerds for coffee nerds. So if you want an incredibly legit 3rd wave pour over, espresso or latte, this is the spot.
