Kanfuela Kaffé

What a gem! Nestled inside the City Hall of Peoria is a delicious coffee shop. The owner is originally from the Congo and they have the coffee beans imported from the Congo and makes every drink with them.

I drove over from Litchfield Park because I knew that I’d be able to buy what has become my absolute favorite coffee of all time: Kanfuela’s Congo IDJWI ISLAND medium roast (see photo). It’s smooth and complex with non of that bitterness that I find in absolutely every cup of Starbucks that I’ve ever had.

I visited Kanfuela’s on their opening day and everything was just a lovely experience. The first thing I noticed was the smell of amazing coffee and baked goods. The staff was welcoming & friendly. I ordered the iced flan latte and still have not been able to stop thinking about it!
