A welcome FIVE-STAR coffee and brunch stop in Richmond to break up our drive from North Carolina to Maryland! Located in a historic 1884 fire station, Ironclad Coffee Roasters serves outstanding coffees, creative drinks, and delicious food — from breakfast sandwiches and pastries to bagels and superfood cereal bowls.
I had to go to Richmond today to take care of some business. I ran into Ironclad Coffee Roasters for a little breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was wonderful and so eclectic. The eggnog latte was delicious and the cherry almond scone was just as good.
It's rare to find a place that consistently offers well-made espresso drinks AND delicious baked items. One usually shines, while the other is an afterthought. At Ironclad, sometimes both are sublime, sometimes they are "only" very good, but overall, the experience is consistently above average.
