They also go by the name Uncommon Grounds. It's a local Berkeley roaster. The coffee selection is very good. The prices are also very reasonable. The people are very nice and friendly. They also have a dog, which is cool.
This crew legitimately knows coffee and knows how to roast it well. They care about what they do. My only go-to for coffee beans in the bay. 10/10!!
We discovered Uncommon Grounds at our favorite restaurant on our wedding anniversary many years ago and have been brewing their coffee beans ever since (perhaps 15 years?) and simply love the freshness, flavor and depth of their different coffees. Especially enamored by their decaf coffee as well.
Amazing coffee (and service). First had their coffee at John Bentley's on Valentine's Day. We brew it daily at home and think it's better (we like the medium/darker roasts) than even the boutique SF coffee places such as Philz, Blue Bottle, Sightglass. Just my opinion - should try for yourself.
