I’m used to cafes back from home in NYC, so I wanted to find a place in Chicago to chill while I was staying here—Hexe is exactly what I was looking for. The dirty chai latte I got was great—not at all cloyingly sweet like some places do, just a great blend of bitter and spice with a hint of sweetness.
Hexe Coffee offers nice coffee and cocktails, with some good food too! They roast beans in house, local workers sell art and overall, Hexe just has a really great vibe for a coffee house. It was freezing outside, so the patio isn't open now, but I can't wait to come back and visit when it does.
"Hexe means witch, in German", is what yhe human at the counter said. It's strangely cozy, as industrial as it is. I got the whiskey barrel light brew espresso cortado and it tastes as amazing as it smells. My girl got a bespoke syrup tea. London Fogs are hard to get right, and they do.
Gothic witch themed coffee shop & Cafe. Good selection of pastries, sandwiches, and in house roasted beans. Later in the day they do cocktails and have a decent beer selection as well. Aesthetics are great as well, lots of good Gothic art and decor. Only downside is trying to find a place to park.
