Update: this has been completely resolved! Updating from 4 to 5 stars! I've been coming here since 2012. Cartel is always in my top 2-3 in all of AZ. Please, please, please - MAKE YOUR SPARKLING WATER FRESH DAILY. You can tell they just use the bottle of sodastream until it runs out even if it's from a day or two ago.
Cartel feels more like a hipster hangout than what you think of as a quintessential coffee shop. Lots of young professionals working away and beautiful art work throughout. The menu is fantastic and has drink that you will not find anywhere else. I got the iconic tonic.
