Coffee roasters in San Diego

San Diego has grown from surf-town coffee to a legitimate roasting city. Cafe Moto has supplied the harbor-adjacent warehouses since the early '90s, Bird Rock (a perennial national "roaster of the year" contender) runs direct relationships with farms, Dark Horse keeps multiple neighborhoods caffeinated, and Jaunt and Goldchild represent the newer, brighter-roast generation. Wholesale is unusually strong here — a big share of these roasters supply the county's café scene.

San Diego is one of the biggest fresh-roast cities in our directory: 30 independent roasters and roaster-cafés across San Diego, California, with 9,955 customer reviews between them. Cafe Moto leads the pack at 4.6★ across 1,250 reviews. 13 of them supply beans wholesale to local cafés and offices. What locals say

Fantastic Coffee! I really enjoyed the Lil Pump Coffee it was like pumpkin pie in a cup! Expertly crafted highly recommend! I bought some beans to bring home with me because we were visiting the area. If I lived in California I would be a regular here! Decor is artful mod totally hip!

Cin cardamom latter. 🤯 amazing. Not sure why more coffee places dont have this on their menu. Great place to spend time with your kid. Definitely stop by. The espresso served professionally with side of water. Classy There's a bunch of little local shops in this same shopping center. Great time with @healingground.

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters at Park and Market really delivers on what matters most, great coffee, thoughtful service, and a space that actually lets you enjoy both. We stopped in right before closing and Katy could not have been more welcoming. She went out of her way to make us a proper flat white, and it showed.
